How Vyre works
Last updated October 2026
Vyre is a private AI chat. You can ask questions, draft messages and documents, research with web search and generate images, without creating an account and without your conversations being stored on a server.
No account, no profile
The first time you open Vyre, your browser gets a private key. That key is the only link to your credits. We don’t ask for an email or a phone number, and there’s nothing to log in to.
Personal details are hidden before sending
Before a message leaves your browser, Vyre swaps people’s names, email addresses, phone numbers, card numbers and wallet addresses for placeholders. The model never sees them, and its reply is restored with the real details on your screen. “Hide more” also hides places, organisations and long numbers. Text from attached PDFs and documents is checked the same way; text inside images can’t be.
We also ask the model provider to use only hosts that don’t store prompts or train on them.
Your chats stay on your device
Conversations are saved in your browser, not on our server. A recovery file, encrypted with a passphrase only you know, lets you move your key, chats and credits to another browser.
Pay per message
Each reply costs what the model provider charges plus a markup, shown under every answer. Top up with USDC on Base, from $1. See pricing for typical costs.
Questions
Do I need an account?
No. Vyre creates a private key in your browser the first time you visit. The key holds your credits; there is no email, password or profile.
Where are my chats stored?
Only in your browser. Our server never stores your conversations. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so save a recovery file to keep your key, chats and credits safe.
What does the AI model see?
Before a message leaves your browser, people’s names, email addresses, phone, card and wallet numbers are swapped for placeholders like [PERSON_1]. The model answers with the placeholders, and your browser swaps the real details back in. Under each message you can see exactly what the model received.
Which AI models can I use?
Several hosted models: a fast low-cost model, Kimi for careful answers, GLM, Qwen Coder for code, Claude Sonnet as the strongest option, a Deliberate mode where three models work on one answer, and image generation.
Can it search the web?
Yes. By default the model searches when a question needs current information, and cites its sources. You can make it search every time or turn search off.
How do I pay?
With prepaid credits: 100 credits are $1. Top up with USDC on Base from any wallet. Unlinkable top-ups give you signed tokens instead, so we can’t connect your payment to the credits you spend.
Can I use it from my own code?
Yes. Vyre has an OpenAI-compatible API, so the official OpenAI SDKs work with your Vyre key.
